Absolutely! It's quite the common practice to simply apply your desired clear top coat finish straight over the Polished Aluminum and keep the color as it is. A clear top coat is required in most cases for this application as the metallic flakes within the coating will oxidize very quickly without one. Certain indoor application can get away without the application of a clear coat so long as there is no physical touching of the part(s).

Polished Aluminum HSS-2345 has a recommended "flash" cure schedule. Flash time is 4 minutes beyond flow-out or gel-out at 375 degree F. You can locate application guides on our website. Yes, you can apply either ESS-6518 or ESS-10171 under Polished Aluminum HSS-2345. You would only partial cure the primer (flow-out), then pull and allow to cool. Apply your Polished Aluminum and also bring to flow-out but add 4 minutes to that time…so, flow-out +4 minutes. Pull and allow to cool, then you would apply your required clear coat or transparent top coat and follow that coating’s cure schedule to cure all layers together providing strong inter-coat adhesion between all 3 layers.
