When applying the clear should I be able to see the bace coat before baking I'm yaveing a hard time with the clear I can do bace no problem but not sure how much clear should go on was trying to fine a vid but cant Ty

Question by Support on Oct 23, 2018
ANSWER: If you can see the base coat through the layer of raw dry clear, it's probably too thin. Try laying the powder down just until the base coat disappears and the part is all white. Once it reaches that point, it's a safe place to stop, no need to keep adding more. NIC Support

I have recent purchased clear vison as well as a few illusion powders. I noticed the illusion pink says to flash for 2 minutes @400 degrees then I'm assuming then drop oven temp to 355 degrees and cure with the clear vision applied for 18 minutes.

Question by Support on Aug 10, 2018
ANSWER: Correct, after flashing the Illusion base coat remove from the oven, allow to cool and then apply the clear. Follow the cure guidelines for the clear. Both coats will cure together. NIC Support
Answer by Support on Aug 10, 2018

When using clear vision , how long do you put the in the oven to warm up before applying the clear vision ,

Question by Support on Jul 15, 2018

Can i use this as a top coat if the base coat is paint and not powder coat?

Question by Support on May 25, 2018
ANSWER: It depends on if the base coat would be able to handle the heat required to cure the powder. Some liquid paints will blister at the temps required to cure the powder. Also, the bond between the liquid paint and the powder may not be very strong. NIC Support
Answer by Support on May 29, 2018

What temperature should I babke it

Question by Support on May 07, 2018
ANSWER: 355F. See all curing instruction in the Application Guide. NIC Support
Answer by Support on May 07, 2018

Does the clear vision need to be coated over the top coat while it is still hot from the oven or does it need to be applied over the topcoat after it has cooled down?

Question by Support on May 02, 2018
ANSWER: We recommend allowing the part to cool down before spraying. This will help keep the coat more even and will help prevent applying too much. NIC Support

How many lbs would I need for 4 19" wheels that are different sizes? Running 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear. I see you suggeest around 2-3lbs for 18" wheels assuming they are all the same size.

Question by Support on Apr 22, 2018
ANSWER: 2-3 lbs. would be about right for that size as well, you may have a little left over but it really depends on the application technique and equipment. NIC Support
Answer by Support on Apr 23, 2018

Question by Support on Apr 11, 2018

Answer by Support on Mar 15, 2018

Since I haven't received or tried the top coat process yet can you give me a brief instruction on how it works? IE: do you apply and bake the base coat and then apply and bake the top coat? How is the adhesion when applying the second coat, any special techniques required? Thank you for any insight on this.

Question by Support on Mar 01, 2018
ANSWER: The base coat should be baked before applying the top coat. How long the base coat should be baked for depends on which base coat you use. Most base coats only require a partial cure before applying a top coat but SUPER CHROME USS 4482 and ULTRA BLACK CHROME USS 5204 actually should be fully cured before applying a top coat. Adhesion is excellent over partially cured finishes because the base re-flows and bonds with the top coat. Even on fully cured powder the adhesion can be surprisingly durable. The main concern is making sure your cure times are accurate. Under curing can cause a host of issues. NIC Support

For colors such as Shocker Yellow, that have limited UV Stability, will Clear vision, or other clears from Prismatic make them UV stabil, or is there any other sort of UV inhibitor that can be added to make the colors last?

Question by Support on Feb 27, 2018
ANSWER: Transparent powders and other powders that have limited UV stability do benefit from applying a clear top coat in that it helps slow the fading but it does not completely stop it. The clear merely acts as a buffer between the UV light and substrate coating. NIC Support

what would cause cloudiness over blue powder

Question by Support on Feb 17, 2018
ANSWER: There are a few things that could be causing cloudiness but we would need to get some more information from you to try and make a better determination of the cause. It would probably be best to shoot an email to technicalsupport@prismaticpowders.com . If you include a few pictures too, that would be a great help. NIC Support
