Do I have to let the Super Chrome cool down first? Or do I spray the red on while it’s hot?

We recommend allowing the Super Chrome to cool first because spraying powder while it's hot can be risky in the sense that if you make a mistake, you do not have the same opportunities to "fix" it as you would if the parts were cool. for example if the gun spits or if something falls from the rack onto the powder. You will have to strip the powder and start over. Many people do choose to coat parts hot, it's not necessarily wrong, it's just riskier and that should be taken into consideration. We believe a coater should learn proper gun settings and technique before opting to spray parts hot.

Will this work for high temp applications.

Standard powder coating is not the best choice for high temp applications. They can withstand sustained temps of about 250F max and spikes in temp up to 350F-400F. There are some high temp powders on the market but there is very limited color selection. For the best performing high temp products, we would recommend Cerakote High Temp C Series or V Series .

I have used your Super Chome as a base and is beautiful and bright frankly exceeded my expectations. I want to use UPS 1506 as top coat but it won't adhere to the Super Chrome. Should I clean the Super Chrome with a special solution? Should the item be heated up another time before I use the 1506. Wish I could send you a photo

It sounds like you have an issue of back ionization. Did you lower the voltage when you tried applying the top coat?

I want to do the control arms on my vehicle. They have been blasted with some imperfections on them, I want a chrome red finish, what primer,undercoat can I use under your product that will fill in defects and imperfections

It really depends on the severity of the pitting in the metal. Sometimes a heavier powder base coat is enough to fill in minor surface defects. Polyester powders build more easily. You can powder fill just the pitted areas, partially cure, sand smooth and then do the finish coating work (Super Chrome, Lollypop Red etc.) For more severe defects a high temperature epoxy filler such as High Temp JB Weld or High Temp Lab-Metal can be used. Just make sure you follow the directions and allow the filler to fully set (cure) before coating over it.

If I use a metallic silver base coat instead of Super Chrome, will it give me a metallic candy apple red effect?

Yes, but keep in mind the specific base color used will have it's own effect on the color outcome. A darker metallic silver will of course make the over all color darker and a lighter silver will be lighter etc. etc.
