Brassy Gold is a deep brass color with gold tones. This color is a transparent polyester powder coat and has a high gloss finish.

Transparent powder coatings allow the underlying substrate to influence the final color, depth, brightness, and reflectivity. The S-Panel image and Prismatic Powders swatches are applied over a smooth, bare aluminum substrate; while Super Chrome Plus UMS-10671 provides a bright, reflective base for candy and transparent topcoats, the resulting appearance will not be identical to the S-Panel or swatches. Less-reflective substrates may produce a softer or more muted appearance, so we always recommend shooting a test panel to confirm the desired results.

Is Brassy Gold PPS-6530 and other transparent powders like it just a top-coat and the end result is determined by the base-coat color ?

Transparent Top-Coats like Brassy Gold PPS-6530 are tinted and their end result is determined by both base-coat or substrate color and application thickness. Our on-line representation of Brassy Gold and all other transparent powders show the top-coats applied over a bright and shiny/reflective piece of aluminum. When applied over anything other than a bright and shiny reflective surface the end result will be different than what is shown on-line. If applied over sand blasted steel or aluminum the resulting finish will look more like a solid orange or dark yellowish/brown finish.
Also, Transparent Top-Coats like Brassy Gold PPS-6530 are affected by application thickness. Recommended thickness is between 2-3 mil. When applied heavier the finish will darken. Every mil or .001" of additional thickness can make a significant difference.
