what is the best clear coat to use to maintain the 37-70 gloss units?

Our recommendation would be to use Soft Clear PPS 1334. It has a gloss level of 50 which positions it nicely in that range.

Will a black base coat change to out come of the top color?
Answer from Admin
It can to some degree, because metallic silver colors do not have the best "hiding" properties. Darker substrate colors can yield darker outcomes than lighter base colors.
