Chartreuse Sherbert

Neither Chartreuse Sherbert PSS-7068 nor Neon Yellow PSS-1104 "require" a clear coat. A clear coat will provide added protection from road debris, discoloration from chemical application like cleaning materials, hard water spots and provide the color with amazing depth but beyond that these two colors can be applied without the need of a clear coat.

While you would think that applying a solid tone coating like Chartreuse Sherbert would not be affected by the color of it's base I recently applied Chartreuse Sherbert over a White Base Powder and another over a sand blasted steel base to find that there was a slight shift in the finished color. The Chartreuse Sherbert that was cured with the White Base Coat had a slightly lighter tint to the overall color. Keep in mind that the white base was a partial cure and both Chartreuse Sherbert thicknesses measured between 2 and 3 mil (between 2-3 mil for the Chartreuse over Steel and 5-6 mil for the Chartreuse over White).

Basically, our powders are safe to about 250 degrees F. with occasional spikes to 350-400 degrees F.
