Fools Penny is a bright pinky copper with a subtle metallic flake. This color is a transparent polyester powder coat and has a high gloss finish.

Transparent powder coatings allow the underlying substrate to influence the final color, depth, brightness, and reflectivity. The S-Panel image and Prismatic Powders swatches are applied over a smooth, bare aluminum substrate; while Super Chrome Plus UMS-10671 provides a bright, reflective base for candy and transparent topcoats, the resulting appearance will not be identical to the S-Panel or swatches. Less-reflective substrates may produce a softer or more muted appearance, so we always recommend shooting a test panel to confirm the desired results.

I ordered Fools Penny PPB-5120 but the color did not come out as expected.

Fools Penny PPB-5120 is a top coat finish meant to be applied over a shiny substrate (like our swatch sample) or over a bright base coat like Super Chrome USS-4482 or another Bright Silver. Fools Penny is a transparent top coat where the base finish underneath will have a big impact on the cured outcome. Applied over sand blasted steel or aluminum will cause the top coat to look almost like a solid tone finish, whereas when applied over a bright shiny base the reflective properties of that base will provide the expected color as seen on our swatch sample or on-line sample.
