One of my first rides on my SurRon Light Bee X was in California near the Pacific Coast Highway. There was a mountain range between where I was and the coast. I found myself traversing through knee-deep creek beds, over 3-foot diameter fallen trees, impossibly steep grade trails, sandy washes, and thick vegetation. It had taken a few days of unsuccessful exploring through a spider-webbed labyrinth of unmarked trails and forest roads to finally discover a route up and over the mountain range and get my first glimpse of the coastline. Having ridden a Suzuki DRZ400E growing up, I’ve had my share of off-road trail riding. However, on an electric bike, there is something unique and freeing about how simplistic, quiet, and powerful the bike is.
